
Major General Nathan J. Lindsay
Major General Nathan J. Lindsay graduated the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1963 .He was assigned to the Titan III System Program Office, Space Systems Division, Los Angeles Air Force Station, Calif.
In 1971 he was assigned to HQ Air Force Systems Command, Andrews Air Force Base, Md., in the Office of the Inspector General. from 1973 to 1978 General Lindsay served consecutively as assistant deputy for policy, chief of the Launch Vehicle Integration Division, and deputy director of launch systems integration, Office of Special Projects, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Los Angeles Air Force Station.
The general transferred to the Office of Space Systems, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, where he was responsible for space systems policy, plans and security. In 1980 he returned to Los Angeles as director of operations support and integration within Space Systems Division. In 1982 he became assistant deputy commander for space operations. In March 1983, General Lindsay became assistant deputy commander for launch and control systems. He also served in a dual capacity as deputy for mission integration. In 1984 he was assigned as commander of the Eastern Space and Missile Center, Patrick Air Force Base, Fla. In June 1986 he became deputy commander of launch and control systems at Space Systems Division headquarters, where he was responsible for acquisition of all Air Force launch vehicles, management of the Air Force elements of the space shuttle program, and management oversight of the Air Force Satellite Control Network and supporting systems acquisition.
